Electromagnetic Compatibility
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is the term used to describe how well a device or system is able to function in an electromagnetic environment without introducing electromagnetic disturbances that interfere with the operation of other electrical products in the environment.
The Electromagnetic Compatibility is legally regulated in the European Community and a large number of foreign markets. Different regulations set limits to electromagnetic emission and immunity of all electrical and electronic products, in particular household appliances, Information Technology Equipment, Audio/Video Equipment or telecommunication equipment.
In order to guarantee that the electromagnetic emissions don't cross certain limits, the responsible committees of different countries have established their own EMC-requirements. These must be kept to in order to be able to get the authorization for the introduction of the product to the respective market.
TCP has an extensive network of accredited EMC laboratories at their disposal. EMC accredited laboratories with facilities in Germany, USA and Asia.
