Notified Body EMC - EU
In the EMC Directive (2004/108/EC) the involvement of the Notified Body is voluntary and the purpose of the Body is to help the manufacturer (or his authorised representative within the Community) by reviewing the technical documentation for apparatus drawn up by the manufacturer. An Notified Body EMC should contact if no harmonized standard exist for appliances, systems or installations or if these are not conform to existing standards
Review the technical documentation of the apparatus and assess whether the technical documentation properly demonstrates that the relevant aspects of the essential requirements of the EMC Directive have been met. In result the Notified Body issue a Statement of Conformity (SoC) if the compliance of the apparatus is confirmed for the requirements assessed.
The Notified Body must be designated by the competent authority of the Member State.
